In a local community where fear, misinformation, exclusion and incarceration have divided so many people, we shall work for dialogue, inclusion and integration.
We invite local citizens to join us in building a voice that reflects what we think are the truer sentiments and the real interests of Charlotte-Mecklenburg. That voice is for fairness, respect, and inclusion. We believe our leaders need to hear this voice. In the absence of this voice, fear, division and scapegoating are growing.
For further information on why many of us – who are not immigrants but may even be natives of Charlotte – have joined together to work for fairer and more sensible immigration policies, please see the personal statement from Robert FitzPatrick, a charter member of the Committee.
